Hello…! I’m Mariam Khan 🍰
I’m a Pakistani-American Product Designer all about crafting compelling experiences. I’m endlessly curious about how empathy and strategy can open doors for community.
I love pulling apart research, facilitating workshops, and integrating ideas and strategies to create actionable designs.
I received my Bachelors in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Washington. Through my education, I learned that I enjoy thinking about ways to incorporate moral reasoning into my design processes, especially while considering changing cultural trends and emerging tools.
When I’m not designing you can find me
practicing my mehndi/henna skills and designs
going on runs
programming community events
reading (currently: How Do You Live? by Genzaburo Yoshino)
deliberately doodling (see below)
stumbling over practicing my Urdu
Send me a hello at mkha.one@gmail.com - I’d love to chat
Pattern-making is something I do in my spare time to center myself
I find myself drawing inspiration from all the South-Asian embroidery I’ve grown up admiring. Because this is something I allow myself to take my time with, filling one page can take anywhere from weeks to months.

I find immense joy in designing and practicing mehndi (henna) as it’s relaxing and provides a huge creative outlet
